Of course no one is forcing anyone to download bad apps. I am not against them either as they can come up with good ones in the future. Just would prefer better promotion and visibility for apps that took more effort and enhances the experience.

Apps with the Built for BlackBerry program designation will signify to customers a higher level of quality. With a crowded app market, this designation may increase the chances of your app being downloaded. <-- very good program that rewards hard work and quality

13 K and 12 hours left as of 11:10AM PST...GO RIM GO.. If they do another weekend then it would be almost 40000 apps in 3 weekends..do not forget previous and all local apps.. I think 150k by launch is good number. This num does not matter but some time the NON-BELIEVERS use that number to bash rim so we need try nail every possible negative head line

I'm trying to learn how to program Cascades. I've written tons of software for the past 10 years but no mobile software so it's been a learning experience for sure. I just hope I can have something done by tonight that works well. Either way it's good practice since BB10 will be my primary development platform. I #BB10Believe so much I cut my own hours at work by 20% so I can spend Fridays making BB10 apps.

This is the last chance portathon, so there isn't going to be another portathon pre-launch. (What they do after launch is anybody's guess)

Lots of devs purposely wait until the portathon to upload their apps so there isn't necessarily a huge amount of apps coming in at times when there is no portathon.
