I just Googled this and the best answer I could come up with is the Pearl is alson known as the Lancer?!? maybe over in the UK or Asia?

It's the internal codename that most pearls went by during production. More commonly the 8110 version to be specific, but most pearls got touted as a lancer.

from my search it looks like the 8110 and 8120 were at one time called the Lancer. It also looks like Worst Buy was the only one calling it by that name?

Curve was codenamed Daytona..8800 was indigo and Bold was..meteor if I remember correctly..etc..etc..
