Kil said there's not enough demand a while back. The Android app seems to work though

kik is a clone of bbm but available for less phones..

Actually it's more widespread than BBM
Available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone(7+8), BlackBerry (7.1 and under) and Symbian

BBM is available on iOS, Android, BlackBerry(all) and soon Windows Phone 8

But actually WP7 and Symbian are about to be on the verge of extinction, so they are pretty much on par with each other qua platforms
