i have had my 8830 last may. i noticed last night while trying to dial in the dark that the keyboard nor the trackball was not lit. i have checked screen/keyboard settings but they still won't light. i read in other forums that some have similar experience after upgrading to v 4.5. i remember upgrading to v 4.5.
help!

All I can say is that I'm running 4.5.0.77 on my Sprint 8830 WE and my keyboard and trackball light up just fine.

Are your phones under warranty?? My keyboard does not light up in the day but if I go in a dark room it turns on. I run 4.5 also.

I don't know if this helps or if you have already tried this but back when I had my pearl I would always have to turn the phone off and then back on after resetting to get the backlight to work. Good luck!

after failing to get any answer, i removed the battery from my 8830 and after putting it back, everything is back fine. the trackball lights and the keyboard backlight also works. try this
