Is there a reason we can't take our PIN with us when we get a new BB?
I am assuming a PIN is assigned to a BB when it is created. I'm just wondering why we can't take it with us.

I'm pretty sure you can transfer your PIN.
Anyone care to confirm/deny/shower us with information ... ??
Each BB is assigned a pin that stays with the device. Why would you need to take it with you?
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
I tried Verizon stated that the PIN goes with the serial numbers
I was thinking for BB Messenger.
I did a quick search online and found out that if you do a backup of your device and then restore your BB messenger contacts, it will update thier information with your new PIN without them knowing.
I asked a Tmo BB tech on that and he told me they do it all the time if you get a new BB they can transfer your old PIN to your new BB. He told me that not every techs knows about it, so it depends on the tech if he's that knowledgeable or now. He told me he sent out an email to all the tech support guys about it. so for tmo its no problem. I dont know about any other carriers though. Hope this helps...
There is absolutely no way you can keep your PIN, only way it would be possible is to have it burned into the device POST-Production..
If your worried about BB Messenger contacts, just do a FULL device database backup, and restore that to the new BlackBerry...
if you us DM to transfer from one berry to another, it updates everyone elses BBM so they don't have to re-add you
