Keep moving
This is an overdue idea imo:
Let mee start by saying I love love HDMI output. It's fantastic and I'm glad they still support it.... however I am itching to see something like BLACKBERRY TV.
I love the way apple tv works if you know how to use it. I'd love something like that when I'm at home and just feel like streaming a movie or something. The big difference for me is not having to put my phone down as sacrifice for my siblings to enjoy a movie.
To close this off.. no it can't replace hdmi for me that thing means I don't have to buy cable. But bbtv would still be useful in its own right...home entertainment

Doesn't Miracast already do this?

I tend to just download movies and put them on a hard drive, which I then plug into the TV to watch. It saves paying for movies and also saves space on my phone. If you look in the right place the quality of the movies are fantastic, and you'll never lose them

I've been wanting this since the Bb10 launch. They need to more than just phones and a BlackBerry TV device could have features add on like a USB camera to turn a TV into a FIPS approved VTC and/or BBM Video device. Great integration with the phone line like Apple has with Airplay. It would be a cheap device to produce and support too as it would use many if the phone parts minus the screen and Cell radio. They must branch out even though it might not seem like a good idea, and they need to get back into the Tablet space too.
