I'll probably have insurance on this Z30 for awhile. Usually I cancel it after a year or so since the depreciation of old tech catches up, but after seeing there are very few to be found on eBay and that they're holding their value pretty well I think I'll keep paying for insurance.

oh man I'm so sorry, may wanna try around town for a place to repair it for a reasonable price. I seen it cost anywhere from 116-140 dollars.

I blame it on Crackberry... I was reading a thread that was called "naked or cased" and people were going back and forth saying they liked there phone naked or cased... I actually posted that I have otterbox defender cases on all my phones... but I decided to try going naked this weekend and by 1100 am I dropped it on its face and BOOM!!

The thing that bothers me the most is that the phone has been locked into a OtterBox since the day I got it and I never dropped it.... Within an hour of taking it off.. I drop it... unbelievable

Sorry to hear/see that damage to your Z30. If you are adventurous you can repair yourself.

I have repaired a couple of Z10s that suffered a similar fate.

You got a raw deal that's for sure. I just hate the feeling of cases and don't blame you for taking it off. The Z30 has a tremendously exquisite feel to it. Like everyday in a tux! Sorry, I'm probably not easing your pain.

my son (3 years) was climbing a small tablet and sweeped with his feet my Z30 away in 2 the air and it hit the ground hard on his back and my heart just stop beating for 3 seconds and then i was afraid to get it from the floor to check it but a ZEN feeling was there whene everything was GOOD . No scratch no breaking glass and the phone was at that time just 4 days old. My goodness I was lucky.

Be careful replacing it unless you aren't going to try to get it replaced. Screen replacement is never an easy process.

I'm pretty sure screen replacement due to dropping a phone is not covered by any manufacturer's warranty.

Yeah my brother got a note 3 recently and told me he was not going to use a case. It took five minutes for me to change his mind.

I've been carrying mine around naked for a month. It did take a little tumble on concrete one day but -- thank goodness -- sustained not a scratch. Lucky, I guess... or not; the thing is pretty durable.

Is the screen part the same for the Verizon CDMA version and the rest ? I know the backs are supposed to be different and was just wondering in case this happens to me.
