I was in my local WalMart looking at the droid and met a BB rep there. Long story short:
She had a bag of new BB's. The 9700 no surprise, the essex and a FUGLY BB that folded like a env touch. I asked about the 8900 and she said before thanksgiving it would be out for the supported models. I asked her if she was sure so to prove herself right she pulled out a 5.0 cd that was labeled for "existing demo units only".

I asked to take a pic. She was a hovering close talker. I even asked for the 5.0 cd- lol. That folding BB was gross. She is still there. Anyone near the WalMart next to Neshamany Mall Bensalem PA go for it.

You let an opportunity like that get by without a picture of said fugly folding BB? That was an unleaked model.

Sounds very interesting, even though it may be ugly. Before I switched to smartphones, I had an LG ENV. That was by far the best dumbphone i Have ever owned. That device has convinced me that a folding form factor will work.
well at least we know not to expect much from them lol...
I wouldn't honestly expect much from her. She was drooling all over the Droid and excited how it had free gps and the BB doesn't. I didn't bother correcting her. She was very nice though. Just a Google fan.

Man, more info on the Essex release would of been great.
The Essex is coming out "sooner than later"- whatever that means. I really was trying hard to get the 5.0 cd out of her
Again, she was in love with the Droid.
She did say that her personal 9700 had problems holding onto a 3g signal but that it was not a finished model. I can say the 9700 feels real nice in my hand. It seems more of an 8900 upgrade than a 9000 upgrade.

I can't believe nobody else is calling BS on this whole story.
So the lady was showing off a NEVER BEFORE SEEN and possibly mythical folding BB, and showing it around to all the pawns who sell handsets at your local Wal-Mart??
Call BS. I live to impress you. I was asking her a ton of questions and she shared with me what she had. She was actually talking to the pawns about the new Curves for TMO. How did I impress you anyway? Did I say she gave it to me? Do I have some to give away? Your impressed with me seeing something? Well here's one for you: I seen boobs the other day. Now go **** off.

Well, if you've got her card... give her a call? If you have a gf already, "it's a business meeting", tell her that. Get a candlelight dinner organized and you know... try to be romantic and have a pic of the slider BB when she isn't looking...
Oh and put Google Latitude on so we know where your corpse is if she kills you.
