Unless you had a lojack (sp?) on your laptop, not likely. As for your PlayBook, unfortunately it doesn't connect to BlackBerry Protect like legacy devices so you can't use the gps to track it down that way. Sorry man... any luck funding any nearby security cameras to see if you can get some footage?

I remember having read at this forum that someone contacted BlackBerry with serial number and proof of purchase and BlackBerry locked the PB from accessing services involving PIN and BB IDD like BlackBerry World, video chat etc.

Not exactly what you want but at least the robber does not get to use it with full functionality.

Thanks for the replies and yes take care of them specially cause of the information. Had a total backup but it is like 3months old. Have to make everything again, security cameras don't really work around here (Ecuador). I'm just pissed and really hope to find it. I'm just trying to see if my computer connects through splashtop so I can see it and write something to change my stuff for anything they want. It was my work laptop. Thanks for the feedback everyone, really appreciate it.

Are you going to make an insurance claim?

My friend had his laptop stolen from his trunk and his insurance cut him a replacement cheque.

If the PIN can be tracked through BlackBerry World, or when generally connected to the Web. If you have a BlackBerry ID associated to the unique PIN, just contact BlackBerry to see if there is any activity that can be traced back to the location of the device, in some way.
