July 7th is the answer. I just need to find out the question.

Yesterday, at about 5pm EDT (yes, right when the RIM earnings call was scheduled), I received a call from RIM. It was somebody from their developer relations crew, wanting to make sure I knew about the new OS 7 simulator, and that my apps would be ready for the OS 7 launch. She wanted to especially make sure my apps would be ready by July 7th (or was it 8th? I did not take notes). This was before I read Crackberry's coverage of the earnings call. In light of the announced device release delay, I'm puzzled about the July date. Why so early?

I guess one takeaway from this is that RIM is still serious about the apps situation. Their App World execution has not been ... umm ... flawless, but at least they are trying. Research in Motion is ... in motion.

I'm a registered developer on App World. They are probably calling all developers.

    Typical RIM, 4 years late.

I'm kidding, but you know someone out there was getting ready to make the comment and be serious about it.

    Hmmm...

that would be a boost to rim... To turn around and release a phone 2 month early.. Might make their stock mover upwards after they begin purchasing it back.

You know, I don't know. Maybe its a coincidence. Maybe its a sign from VZW thet they're expecting something at that time?

If new ones got released on that date, I'd still be using my 9700
