Yanks would probably be better off waiting for 10.3.2, 10.3.1 was a disaster issue wise

More disappointing that 10.3.1 is still not out, Chen shouldn't be giddy about it, just release it and then talk about it.

No, really, it isn't. At the end of the day, it's up to the carriers to push it out unless he wants to pee in their cornflakes and bypass them, which probably isn't the best idea. Especially now that carrier relations are once again improving. All he can do is inquire and see of they'll get their heads out their butts.

I reading that book Losing the Signal. Back in the day, BlackBerry had the right to do whatever it wanted.

BlackBerry pushed maps and Brower apps to BlackBerries without asking the carriers. Carriers were furious but they couldn't do anything because BlackBerry had the right to add or remove features.

That depends on the market power you're wielding. Look at Apple...
they push their own updates... :-)

According to Verizon, it's actually Blackberry who is in charge of sending out its own updates. It's true that Verizon acts as a set of secondary eyes to make sure things will go smoothly, but it's Blackberry who pulls the trigger

    Pee in cornflakes??
They wouldn't stay crunchy for long. but I bet it would make for a great winter breakfast.
A bit salty for my taste though!!

I'm organizations and relationships that have separate hierarchies and reporting structures, someone sooner or later has to take the lead whether it's theirs to take or not. Otherwise, all parties involved point fingers at each other and nothing gets done.

If Chen wanted to he could push this right through the carriers and force them to deal with it. Yeah, hell puss them off but after he's done it a couple of times and the user's sing the praises of BlackBerry and NOT their carrier, the carrier will want to get a piece of that back for themselves and begin to push these things through to their customers on their own.

This is completely false. Your Verizon rep is blowing smoke.

The updates reside on the BlackBerry servers, but the carriers decide when to open the door to its customers.

BlackBerry could technically push them anyway, but like Bla1ze said, that would threaten already fragile carrier relationships - as BlackBerry relies on the carriers to provide support.

Regardless of who is at fault, it is inexcusable that 10.3.1 has not been officially released in the USA as yet.

    Agreed. But.....

AT&T just rolled out Lollipop for the Galaxy S5 last month - a full 5 months after it was released.

Samsung has a lot more pull than BlackBerry and they suffer from the same problem.

I vote for peeing in their cornflakes and adding marshmallows for some sweetness

This is actually great to know. People here are always railing about BlackBerry having this problem; now we know it's not just BlackBerry.

I have 10.3.1 on my unlocked Z10, but won't put it on my Z30. I am waiting to see how 10.3.2 is.

I need Flash for now, I like tapping anywhere on the screen for taking pictures. And several other issues.

But I do think it's crazy for it to have been released so long ago and still not available here for those who want it!

Chen / BlackBerry should take a page from MS and set up a "developer" download page that is available to all who want to update.

But aren't the leaks exactly that, anyway?

Granted, an official page would help the less tech savvy BB10 users...
