A report on the wire says the NHL is considering putting another team in Toronto. One idea being considered is offering an expansion team to RIM owner Jim Balsillie after he bails out the Nashville Predators franchise.

I must admit the folks in Toronto are Hockey fanatics. When I go to a Sabres game in Buffalo the parking lots have as many Ontario plates as New York State. When the Leafs come to Buffalo, it seems the Leafs fans make more noise and are in full force. Makes for a neat game.
The NHL will never allow another team in Ontario. It would devalue the Leafs and kill the Sabres. The problem with the Maple Leafs is that the real fans can't get tickets because the building is packed with coorporate season ticket holders. I'm watching tonights game against Anaheim and in the third, the premium seats were empty until halfway through the period. John Salesman is too busy getting Mike Buyer loading with 13$ beers.
Montreal has different problem. Season tickets are owned by too many scalpers.

P.S The Leafs won't allow another team to come to Toronto cuz then they won't get the first round draft pick !!!
That is a problem in a lot of sports. The real fans are forced out by big money. On another note, hockey just doesn't seem right w/o Leafs and HABS going deep into the playoffs.

I think after the strike they will not make more games in a season for a long while. I love all the new rules and the way the nhl is played now. More scoring thank god! Toronto would do well with another team
