I have a Blackberry 8830, worked fine until Friday when the microsoft communicator errored out mid-conversation. Since then, it will not reconnect to the Enterprise Messenger service on the server. BES connectivity, calls, emails, and all 3rd party apps are still functional.

I am wondering if it's possible to reload the OS v4.2.2.176 or Java without a full wipe?

I've backed up the device ... can someone give me instructions on how to reload the OS/java to see if that will fix the problem?

We can do a wipe on the device, but it will take corporate legal 3 weeks to "approve" that option, which I think is rediculous.

You might want to try asking in the BB Admins section of the Forum...

I almost hesitate to say this, but you HAVE tried a battery pull right?

Actually, yes - we have tried pulling the battery.

    We've also tried the following:
    removed/readded the enterprise messaging client
removed/readded the account to the BES
reinitialized the berry to the BES
    reinstalled the app again

still get the same error "Unable to contact server. Please contact your IT Administrator if the problem persists."
