I'm curious to see how all the naysayers whining about BlackBerry bringing back the trackpad will react when the new iphone has a trackpad. Will it be "moving backwards" again? Or will they finally see the advantage of having a trackpad to make a device truly one-handed.
Why not, it already has the button. I think the issue some had about bb brining it back is BB10 was made for no buttons or trackpad and came out with none. Now is apple still behind because they don't have the tool belt too?

The Trackpad was useful for the manipulation of text, which is a big part of why people buy a blackberry. I have no problem with BlackBerry bringing it back as it adds functionality. I don't see any point to the others buttons which are frankly clutter.
A trackpad feature on a iPhone would be nice. My only concern is you have one button doing many things on the iPhone. I can see issues arising.
I can't see a need for a trackpad on an iPhone. I don't need a button to manipulate text. I can do that by pinching the screen or long pressing it to manipulate it, but whatever works.
