Hey I used it for awhile until I got AIM mobile on the phone itself...there is no 'app' you just send text messages to certain numbers after you register your phone. Check out
http: //aolmobile.aol.com/pdf/AOL_Mobile_IM_Services-Full_Service_Mobile_IM_User_Guide. pdf
take out the spaces between the http and the forward slashes
and
http: //mobile1.aol.com/mobileaim/textmessaging
again take out the spaces
I didn't see Sprint listed in the PDF but it still works with Sprint. If you have a blackberry though I would suggest just downloading the AIM for the Blackberry as it makes it much easier. The problem I found with SMSing for AIM is that sometimes one will get there ahead of the other aka you'll send three and the third will get there then the first then the second and if you're having a serious conversation for whatever reason it just screws things up haha. But yeah that should be all you need but I'd really recommend just going to
www. blackberry.com/aim
and for the last time take out the spaces
Sorry about not being able to post the links I have to have 10 posts and I clearly don't have that yet but.
Hope that helps
PH
PS if you want to send someone a text via AIM from the computer open up a new IM and for the sn do '+1yyyxxxxxxx' where 'y' is the area code and 'x' is the number.

edit: Hybird, it's time to get that post count up. LOL. Hope to see you around. :D
i use SMS AIM. i know for at&t and vzw you send a text to: 4646. in the body type your screen, leave a space, and type your password. this will sign you on. once you are logged on you can send a blank text to 4650 and 4653 to get the shorts codes sent to your phone.
i do this on a dumbphone.
