    Hey all!
I was looking through Stoner's tutorial on how to free up some space and thought I'd try it.
I installed the OS system correctly on my laptop, but now when I open DM it says "disconnected". I went to options and that's all set correctly, what am I doing wrongly?

Did you download the same OS as you are running on your phone?

Did you delete the vendor.xml before you started? You might want to try removing the DM and reinstalling it.

You have to delete the vendor.xlm file on your computer. that is probably why it is not seeing your BB. I used to live on Browncroft when I was a kid. Boy I miss that place. go back every summer. Rest of family still up there.

Start Desktop Manager, connect your phone, click on Options, Connections Manager and then select Detect. You may have to do this a few times but it should find it.

I have not deleted the vendor file, I did a search using Vista file search and did not find it.

Pete, I've tried that numerous times and it does nothing.

OK, so I uninstalled the OS, then deleted the Vendor file, then reinstalled the OS. Then opened DM--still, "Disconnected".

Every time you install an OS it will create a new vendor.xml file

    go back to
c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the vendor.xml file and try to connect again

Did that too cause I noticed the file was back. Still not working though. Also, tried a battery pull. Nothing.

Then try going to options > connection options and
make sure it is pointing to USB-XXXXXXXX, use the detect
    if you have too.

I have started a parallel thread in the Curve forum.

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/dt-...install-43231/

This has been reported and a couple solutions have been offered.

Battery Pull worked once, Reinstall DM worked for another user.
