Is it just me, or does the latest version of Instagram seem to be running super fast compared to previous versions?

I'm also liking the new 'flat' look of the app.

PSA: Download ONLY via Snap or Evozi (both which get their APKs directly from Google Play). (Note: Amazon is safe too, but doesn't carry Instagram).

Rant: Never use 1mobile, Apktrain, etc... Legitimate Android sites NEVER recommended their users download APKs from sketchy 3rd party app stores. They have learned this hard lesson after seeing their users get malware. CB should NOT! send it's users to these stores. They should learn from history, and not repeat it.

Probably everything is just lighter in terms of graphics. "Graphics" is putting it lightly, as the design aspect to impress the majority doesn't take much then a few solid colors.

I also wonder if this version (given that kit kat is already out) is using a higher version of Android (with hardware acceleration).

BB10 with its Android 4.2.2 runtime could handle a newer ICS version very well.

Recall that many Gingerbread apps (like Netflix 1.8) ran very slow on BB10 but the later versions run at almost native speeds on 10.2.1.

Truth be told, I actually have no idea ... just speculating.

I haven't had the chance to load it onto my Z10 yet, but on my Nexus 5 the latest version is definitely faster. In fact, the description for the update on Google Play says its "faster and more responsive".

I downloaded from amazon with 10.2.1 release so, will I receive an update if I go to snap or do I need to delete my current version and reinstall from snap?

The app is also only half as large as it used to be. They've probably done a lot of itemizations in a lot of places. Not only in the layout of the app, the graphics being simplified, but also in things like their Camera/filter algorithms and such.

It is more responsive once you're in the app but the app launch time is still long like the older version

Amazon doesn't carry Instagram... They have a number of clones though.

If you use Snap and check "My Apps" you can see which of your apps have updates, and you can update them right there:

I'm not sure if you'd have to delete your current version before updating via Snap. For example, I'm pretty sure I got Temple Run 2 from Amazon, but it's listed in "My Apps" in Snap.

Candy Crush Saga is also listed in Snap, and I know that I definitely got that from Amazon.

On Snap, it just updates. Snap feels like BlackBerry World to me sometimes.

Hence why I used "Graphics" lightly
