Beejive. instant messaging anywhere and no, it isn't free.
another alternative is IM+ from Software for PDA and mobiles: MSN/Live Messenger, Yahoo!, AIM/iChat, ICQ, MySpace, Jabber, LCS, Sametime, Oracle, Reuters, Skype
WebMessenger and OZ are free. Discussion and info to get are in this thread:

And you are positive WM and OZ don't use data? That's not the impression I got when I got them both this week. My limited SMS supply seems unfazed.

OZ definitely. WM I recall reading here and in other places was the
same. I'll see if I can track down a definitive answer for you.
Much obliged.

Don't forget about the ones from RIM.
I think jivetalk is worth the money its only like 19 bucks.

$19.99, and I got a discount code for $5 off. After the revelations of last night, and after noting that BJive has the most feature-rich interface of all the apps I've tried, I just ponied up the money last night. I agree, it's worth it in the end.

How about as far as memory is concerned or speed (ram)?
Does JiveTalk take less ram/memory than running 2 or 3 stand alone IM progs?
Thanks
