The Q10 is the most high end device on the list. The Droid 4 while not completely terrible, has poor battery life. So yeah, all keyboard phones besides the BlackBerry ones suck badly.
I think it would depend on who has the IP, but if done right Lenovo has a chance with the Droid line. I would say that is the only other serious contender.

I believe Mr. Chen sees what's going on, BlackBerry will not be where it was 4-5 years ago, but they'll be around. That said, Nokia made some pretty decent phones with physical keyboard in the past, so did Samsung, maybe Sammy would dust off and bring back the Samsung Jack... lol

The Droid 4 came out early 2012. The Keyboard Droids are done for. There was some images of a Droid 5 around the summer of last year, but it never materialized in the store, so I think it`s safe to say the Droid Keyboard phones are dead now. Motorola is only been updating the ultra, maxx, and mini lines. Lenovo has never made a keyboard phone as far as I know too, and the move from keyboard phones in the market, shows that a future appearance in very unlikely.

The market has shifted away from keyboard phones, so after BlackBerry, the Keyboard phones might just die out.

Only Blackberry makes a good portrait QWERTY. The market is small though ... very small.

BlackBerry will never completely go away. Worse case scenario they go private and continue as a niche player, business oriented only.

    Agreed.

If Lenovo can do for Motorola what they did for the Thinkpad, BlackBerry will have serious competition in the physical kb market.

I found a list of the 'best' physical kb phones - http://www.digitaltrends.com/best-qwerty-phones/#!BPqDN

The Q10 came fourth, which was a shock.
I've used the droid 4. It's crap. Much prefer portrait qwerty, but even so, the build quality and bloatware was horrendous

That's why that list isn't my list.
For me, the Q10 is the king of qwerty phones.
