I have Facebook 1.6 and I love having the app on my phone. I hate how small the icon is and it's also not very clean or clear. Kinda grainy.

I found an awesome icon perfect to take the spot of the default icon.

Is there any way to change what icon is used for a RIM app such as Facebook?

No. The icons are a part of the theme and cannot be altered or
replaced.

Best you can do is find a theme you like better or try your hand
at designing your own.
