Wow, reminds me of the ice storm we got in 1998 in Qubec.

Damn you beat me to it... hope it doesn't last for too long like it did in 1998...

    Hi everyone,

I didn't see a thread for this already, so I figured I'd open one.

I thought I'd take advantage of the power being out in my neighbourhood (Burlington, ON) and get some pictures using only my Z10 and the stock camera app.

I'm interested to see the conditions for those who've been hit by this ice storm.

    These are all from Burlington:

I hope this guy's truck is ok.

Cadillac emblem on my brother-in-laws car

And even though it's beautiful, I summed up my feelings by lightly punching a chair on the patio. This is the result, lol

We got lucky in Quebec, but I remember last time because of the pictures and am seriously thinking about going to Costco and grabbing a generator for my elderly parents, hope it works out OK for those suffering thru this disaster.I,d post a picture but it wouldn't compare to what is going on in your province.GOOD LUCK.
Do it ahead of time don't wait for it to happen. Things like this happen and everybody and their uncle goes to buy those generators and salt.

OK, thought it was just south west of fairview and walker's area. Anyway, great to see another person from Burlington out here on Crackberry. I'm in The Orchard.

I know the Orchard, my fiance worked at a school in the Orchard for a bit. Nice place in there.

Inlaws are off of Cavendish, but fiance and I are on Tyandaga Park Dr.

Anyone who was out today: Did anyone get pictures of the sun reflecting off the ice?! I was driving so couldn't snap a picture in time. I hope someone did, it looked GORGEOUS!

Power's been out in my part of Richmond Hill since Sunday night. Of course a new leak comes out during that time.

I had to clear a tree with a chainsaw that was fallen on a road, tow my truck out using my wench and another tree and travel at least 30 km, it was worth it when I arrived at my local tim Hortons!!!

I don't have any pictures but figured I would ask this here. Since the ice storm has anyone in the GTA on Rogers noticed a dramatic decrease in LTE or 4G speeds? I'm in Mississauga and it seems to have come to a crawl. Wondering if maybe the cell towers are covered in ice affecting this?

No problems with TELUS. Are their towers different from Rogers towers?

That's my house in the photo. Every arborist in Toronto must be salivating at the work that's coming their way as soon as the ice melts.

The other half of the broken branch landed on my van. Fortunately, the 1/2" of ice took the impact, and the van was unscathed.

FWIW now that the power is back, yes I did notice. I often wouldn't even get LTE indoors, emergency calls only. (on z10, rogers)
My gf on the other hand had full all the time. (q10, telus)
