Anything but a Pearl can do that. What's your carrier.

If you're with verizon, get the tour. It has what you're looking for.

OK most current models have both of the above. No need to go for the all singing all dancing 9700 if its not gonna get used.

What do you use your berry for, what do you need from it.

ebay selling is my main thing - I use the Blackberry to check prices for things I find to flip - accept offers/send counters/invoices/quick relisting

OK next question, do you live in a good area for 3G, and are you bothered by having 3G or a 3mp camera over a 2mp camera ?

If thats the main thing you are using for I would say an 8520 would suffice, unless you have the money to get a 9700.

Seems 9700 is the answer to all questions of new Berry's right now, but sometimes its overkill

Given that the 83** were running 32-bit Intel XScale PXA272 312 MHz processor
The Bold (1) 9000 runs a 624 MHz processor which is the same as the 9700.
    The Curve 8900 a 512 MHz processor
    And the 8520 a 512MHz processor

All with 256mb of RAM. So the last 2 generations would all be suitable improvements for you. Just depends now on what you want to spend and what else you want/need it to have.

3G is good in my location - no the camera is not super important to me
Is the 9700 offered with Verizon?
What do you think about the tour/storm

Well depending on budget I would say the world is your oyster, do you want/need 3G, if so its one of the Bolds. If not and EDGE is enough, you can choose from all 4.

See which is best tethered for you.

If you can do it, 9700 is the best out there really. As for carrier, I will leave you to check the other forums, and for people with experience to tell you. Being in the UK im useless for telling you that lol
