I think my Brick breaker password has been compromised.
- Hello all. I just registered for these forums to get some info about password recovery, specifically for the brickbreaker game.
I haven't played brickbreaker on my phone for a while. However, there have been some "friends" who I let play every once in a while. Today, when I go on to play brickbreaker, I find that my password will not work. The user name is the same, but the password will not work.
My concern is that one of these "friends" somehow hacked or phished my password, or maybe even saw it as I was typing it into the blackberry. However, the other possibility is that I may have forgotten the password. If I was able to see the password, I would know if it were one of my own (I probably have about 20 passwords or so that I use for various websites or phone apps), or if it was one that is unrecognizable.
So, somehow I need to find out what the password for brickbreaker is without resetting it.02-07-10 07:08 PMLike 0 - Reed McLayRetired ModeratorThere is no seperate password for an appllication like BrickBreaker, the password covers the entire device.
I can not be done. It was built that way for security. At this point, unless your friend can provide the password, there is no way to recover it.
If you enter 10 incorrect tries, the BlackBerry will flush all of your data and reset to factory new condition.02-08-10 10:26 AMLike 0 - amazinglygracelessRetired ModNo. Reed is saying you cannot password protect BrickBreaker. You set a
password for the device and it protects everything.02-08-10 11:34 PMLike 0 -
Under brickbreaker options, it gives you a mute option, paddle speed/acceleration, and then at the bottom it has a username and password. But I'm pretty sure that the password is not the one I created for brickbreaker. How is that password tied in with the device password? I don't even remember creating a device password, and if I did, it wouldn't be the same one I use for brickbreaker.Last edited by jmack0311; 02-09-10 at 12:58 AM.
02-09-10 12:55 AMLike 0 - jmack is correct, there DOES seem to be a separate brickbreaker password, which seems tied in to the high score reset function, and not in to the device at all. Short of deleting and reinstalling brickbreaker, which might NOT even work, I don't know of any way to reset this password if you don't know it. Seems like it only effects the ability to reset the high score thou, so it is not the end of the world.
EDIT: I softened the title a little I don't want to scare other folks.02-09-10 09:36 AMLike 0 - There is no seperate password for an appllication like BrickBreaker, the password covers the entire device.

As for the OP's question...I don't have an answer to that. I don't submit my scores because there are thousands of users who have better scores than me.02-09-10 09:46 AMLike 0 - Reed McLayRetired Moderator
Fact is, I have only ever opened BrickBreaker once, then removed it from my BlackBerry. I was not aware there is a seperate password.02-09-10 10:08 AMLike 0 - jmack is correct, there DOES seem to be a separate brickbreaker password, which seems tied in to the high score reset function, and not in to the device at all. In the case it is unrecognizable, that means that one of my "friends" found out the password and changed it. If they found out my password, they could possibly use it to get access to one of the websites I use.
