Does this make things a bit clearer? The Z5 is a collector's item because of its rarity and because of its context in the history of BlackBerry.

This is a BlackBerry fan site where many BlackBerry fans discuss "all-things-BlackBerry". So it's not surprising to see BlackBerry fans here interested in BlackBerry memorabilia, just like it's not surprising to see sports fans interested in sports memorabilia on a sports-focused website.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I have over the years found out that paying a bit extra with certified retailers or online shops (like amazon) is worth while in the long run. Indeed eBay has gone off the track and even though you have the guarantee via eBay, time wastes is just not worth it.
