i have my sms txts and emails split into two dif. inboxes. I hear this is a very popular thing to do with a blackberry.

Thing is, everytime I miss a call, I get two notifications of new messages: one from my txt inbox, and one from my email inbox. I then have to go to each separate inbox, click on the missed call, then exit to get rid of the "new message" icon on the top of my phone.

Is there a way to prevent this tedious routine?

I have mine split up, and it only goes into my email part... Not my txt folder.

Try merging them into one. Usually I just press the call button once and it takes me to my call logs. after that all the icons disappear.

It shouldn't be going to your mms box. Do you have 2 mail boxes set up and maybe mistaking it for text folder?
Just kinda weird.

you could always not have your message box log phone calls, then it just shows up under call log...

You need to turn off you Call Logging.

Phone > Menu > Options > Call Logging > None
