I'm sorry but why would anyone want to go back to a Bold 9900 after BB10?

I mean, unless you're stuck in the stone age or are too easily manipulated by what reviews/John Chen tells you. This is just silly to me.

Lmao, "Stone Age" was my first mobile phone, some Alcatel that could just make calls and SMS.

The 9900 is NOT Stone Age.

I am going to fire back up my trusty Bold 9900 today and give it a run after using the Q10 since last July. I've missed some things on my 9900..so going to re-activate it and see how I feel about it these days...all of this talk of the Bold has made me miss mine! I will see how I feel by the end of the week.

The only thing a smartphone should be competing with is YOURSELF.... If it works best for you then it is the right phone... who cares when it was released?

With all the talk about the pros and cons of BB10 on these forums. I thought about the "good ole' days" when my 9900 did everything for me and was a rock of stability...... I loved that phone... It was a communications powerhouse second to none!! Why the heck shouldn't I just break it out again and use it???? Communications is the key for me and that was the best (might still be)... I can keep an iPod touch, or some android device to run my apps and play my games... It seems that most people are carrying two devices anyway...

I am going to fire it up tomorrow morning and give it a while...

It's perfectly ok OP, I switch between my Q10 and 9930 often. I love BBOS and BB10 so when the mood strikes, a quick swap on my carrier site, done. The 9930 is a beauty.

It's got Bluetooth, NFC, Wifi hotspot, Mass storage support, onboard file manager, filesystem and SD card encryption, calendar and email sync, decent word processor that saves in Word document format, picture/video/voice recorders, no. Compete, probably not but equivalent, why not. It doesn't have Netflix or Instagram or lots of games, but it does have plenty of practical apps available. It can fill a lot of needs depending on the person.

I saw someone rocking a Curve 8530 the other day. I thought it was great. Why should I care why someone prefers a different device than me?

If it works for them and they like it, more power to them. It doesn't have to be the status symbol and contest people have made it out to be. Get what you want and be happy. And let others be happy with their choice, too.

The Bold keyboard was glorious... for the first four weeks, after which the notorious double space/period glitch started happening and my E key gave in. Just let it go...

Looks like ATT didn't set up you BIS properly. Did you just insert your SIM fro S4 to the Bold?

No. I was given a new SIM by the rep so she could test to see if it was corrupted or not on the S4. The phone did not register that SIM that's why im getting a new phone sent to me.

However, I am Sometimes getting new emails on my 9900 but they take hours or over a day to reach my phone.

Were I not forced to an iPhone by my employers, I'd use my 9930 until it fell apart.

Will still have it handy as a killer alarm clock!

I had my 9930 up and running today. I have mixed feelings about it. It felt great in the hand and it was like never missing a beat when it comes to typing.

But it did seem pretty old school.. and it wasn't as cool as I hoped. I think the Q10 can take the place of the 9930 quite nicely and the many new features of BlackBerry 10 make it that much better. Maybe I should just stop hoping that one phone can do everything. Just keep the Q10 for communications and some other device for fun.

It was great to take it out for a spin but time to put it back in the garage.

I am sure that in a few years, I will feel the same way about the Q10.

If all you care about is making calls and messaging the 9900 isn't a bad choice. Beyond that it's not good for much and the battery life is subpar at best.
