i just spent an hour waiting for a new OS to download and for it to install onto my 8310 curve.

however, now my phone is rebooted, and EVERYTHING is erased out of my memory.

i SPECIFICALLY remember backing everything up and making sure that i did it SEVERAL times before i hit "next" because i have been reading posts all days.

is there any way that i saved my contacts, applications, EVERYTHING somewhere that i don't know of?

On your computer search for files with the extension .ipd.

There should be one with the name Backup with the date in
    parenthesis. Use that to restore.

Unless you used the procedure to backup your 3rd party apps I'm
not sure if you can get those back without reinstalling them.

And (this is meant to be helpful) a thread title that actually
references your specific issue would be much better.

Did you do a back up before you installed your new os?

    Sounds like they did.
I would try like said above. Locate the backup file and do the backup/restore option in desktop manager
