Question. With Nougat instant reply function for toast notifications, I'm wondering if that can somehow be leveraged by hub to make it that responding from hub doesn't open the corresponding app?

Not a techie but thought this might in the realm of possibilities?

Maybe, but Google recently put their foot down on OEM's touching Nougat instant replies. It might help BlackBerry orrrr..... work against them.

I read that to mean OEM can't replace it , ie you can still pull the notification shade and reply there. It would seem that Hub can still mirror and offer instant reply in the Hub and have that reflected in the notification shade.

You think this is on the radar of hub developers, as in already being considered in road map or discounted due to Google policy?

If not. Assuming you can throw a bug in their ear?

the AC article just shows Google is being consistent with its features and policies to OEMS. Must include Nougat notification capability just like must include Chrome, other GAPPs. OEMS can add but they can't replace. Nougat notifications are considered core to Google Android just like Google apps.
