Whenever I get an email with images, I have to actually hit the menu button and select get images. Is there a way to make this automatic in the settings?

I was wondering about this too. Since OS 4.5 is HTML, I always wondered why the images didn't just load by themselves.

I'm sure one of the experts will be able to answer....

It's a security issue. If the image is linked from an outside source (not embedded as part of the message) you have to manually get them. When you do, the server where the images are stored can log your IP, for one thing. That's a security hole. You should only download external images from a trustworthy source.

A lot of porn spammers only transmit external links instead of actual images, as well. It's nice not to see that junk involuntarily.

And the rest of the world can do it easily. This is one of the few things that pisses me off w.r.t. RIM. At least let the user set a friggin' flag whether or not they want to do it.

The short answer is, No. You can't.

Get BBSmart email viewer (or, I imagine empower) and you can do it just fine.
