It's really bad like my friend was trying to convince me it was better than my BlackBerry 10 all his photos look like crap.

Most people would disagree with you on this. The HTC One is known for its camera! I loved mine. Don't get me wrong I love the camera on my Z30 but the camera on the One is pretty damn good too!

Not sure I agree. I have an HTC One and it is pretty good. Much better in low light. The z10 needs some better software...

I had an HTC OneX prior to my Z10, and the camera was outstanding. One of the best ever.

Same here. I had the HTC One before switching to the Z10. I miss the camera. The Z10 doesn't focus as quickly or as well, it's blurry when it's dark. Sometimes though the pictures look great, like it's from an SLR.

Its good for low light but its 4MP so that's probably why.

My friends also pretty bad at taking photos cuz I noticed they came out better when I was using it. I know for a fact that Htc one only has 4 megapixel while BlackBerry 10 has 8 (not counting the Q5).

UltraPixel Sensor - Engineered with larger pixels, it enables each pixel to capture more than 300% more light than most leading 13 megapixel cameras.
HTC ImageChip - Offers continuous autofocus, color shading, and noise reduction, as well as more realistic High Dynamic Range.
F/2.0 Aperture - The largest available smartphone camera aperture, it lets in 44% more light than the iPhone 5.
Optical Image Stabilization - Drastically reduces blur in still photos and shaky video footage.

Have an HTC One - camera is superb. In low light it gets close to the 1020 (the Lumia). It is superb. The battery life is what lets it down - improved by putting a cyanogen 4.4 test build. The hdr camera software is brilliant.

the HTC one's pixel pitch is larger than the 8mp z10. So its low light performance will be better, but during day light the 8mp of the z10 will resolve more detail due to the abundance of pixels over the 4mp sensor.

So you guys inspired me to go look a little deeper into the HTC ONE's ultrapixel camera and so I went to the HTC website and found this https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=WgxzMyOy sounds pretty good to me but I'm no camera expert and my Z10's camera is plenty good enough for me

There's a saying that goes something along the lines that the best camera is the one that you have with you at the time.

    Just enjoy what you have

Even Lumia 920 camera (8MPx, 3 axis iOS) is better than HTC One one (4MPx, 2 axis iOS). Lumia 920 camera is better in any light condition.

HTC One HAS 4 megapixels. Marketing name is Ultrapixels, but it means that pixel is bigger than standard one.

I've played with the HTC One, and a friend used one at a Christmas party. I was rather impressed with it. Like others have said, the Z10 certainly needs better options/settings for low light photos.

Spot on about the Lumia 920 with ois et al - the 1020 has all of that beefed up. Apparently, though i cant prove this as i don't personally get these results, but the 920 on auto is better in low light than the 1020. My 920 sits in a drawer as it has an unseemly pink tinge, when i take a photo. It is a day one purchase, was sent for repair, and has the latest gddr 3 and black firmware... And still a pink tinge!

Either way, if you want a camera phone, the lumia line are some of the best. Bar none. That 1020 makes a mockery of the others

Good point a few have raised. One has to ask themselves, do they want a PHONE and then a camera, or a CAMERA and then a phone? Ah, yes, that's the real question...

    That's the crux of it.

It really comes down to what toy want. All the mobile eco systems present an excellent enticement - great cameras with some form of ecosystem - and it then ultimately comes down to the consumer to establish what they want from the experience.
