I just got back my Bold 9930 after having lent it to my Son for a year. I had forgotten how nice the keyboard is. Work requires that I carry a Samsung Galaxy S3 so other than Crackberry.com I have not enjoyed BB in a year. I am considering getting a Q10 but think I will wait for the Q20. I may pick up a Torch 9810 in the meantime. Tell me what Legacy device you use and whether you switched back from BB10 or have yet to transition.

Had many BBs. Latest was the 9930. Now a Z10. Would never go back. Keyboard doesn't matter to me. I can type efficiently on anything.

I still use a 9900 for work (alongside my personal Z10 and N5). It's still good for basics like email and messaging. And it's great as a phone. But it wouldn't go back to it as a personal device - just too limiting as a smartphone when compared to BB10 or any of the competition.

I see you have an iPad Mini Retina. I am planning on getting one and using it to complement my Bold 9930 or Torch 9810. I had a Playbook and sold it some time ago. I am tempted to buy another even though end of life'd for Movies and BB Bridge.

The experience is not comparable to BB10. Even though I like the keyboard on the 9930 a lot I would say that the Q10 is by far the superior device. Especially now as the Q20 is in sight there's no reason to buy a legacy device.

I had a 9930 and replaced it with a Lumia 928 when the keyboard wore out. In December I bought a Z10 and last week I picked up a Q10. The keyboard on the Q10 is outstanding and the phone itself is great. There's some things I miss about BBOS and the 9930 (namely BIS & data compression, email push) but the Q10 beats the 9930 hands down. It's a great phone.

BBOS devices fall behind BB10 devices on all fronts: hardware specs, OS and apps. The few things BBOS may still be temporarily ahead of BB10 is the familiarity for its existing users, and call blocking apps.

What difference does data compression make?

    What is Push Email?

Would be using my 9810 but the crappy sim card adapter I used in it broke the trays metal contacts but I'll fix it within the next month or so and then use it for emailing and as a basic phone. Other than that though, the experience is so limiting that I don't normally choose to use it as my personal device anymore.

I am currently on my 9650 with the Playbook and I go back and forth with a Q10 when needed. I really don't have much problems using a BBOS device except for the few times I need something that has stopped working on BBOS (ie Skype mobile and BB News). The device's limitations don't really bother me as I do most of my browsing or content consumption through the Bridge with PlayOn/OverDrive etc. I do envy the stability of OS 7.1 and 10 but I am content in my current set up. Anything that requires time or importance goes straight to a PC.

I really did enjoy my 9800 and my 9900 but of course the OS doesn't suit the new high standards that OS 10 has set. But I do miss that significant feeling in the hand that the 9900 had and the 9800 as well. I don't feel it as much with the Z10. Still a beautiful device though!

I switched from a Z30 to using a Bold 9930 as my daily driver for 30 days as an experiment.

2 weeks in, I think it is the best smartphone for communication and productivity that I've ever used. Yes, it's a 3 year old device and it shows in many ways. But it's amazing how quickly I can get to the info I need using a combination of the toolbelt and touch screen, or blast out a quick text or email using the fantastic physical keyboard.

I'm almost ready to sell my Z30 and hang onto this Bold until the Classic comes out in November.

Still got my bold 9900, also a 9700 (loaded with Tunein, ubersocial), pearl 8130, blackberry 7290 (both as alarms, pearl for video/voice recording).

They see active use, the other three besides my 9900 aren't compatible with the carrier I use, one won't work with the sim unfortunately either (sim not allowed).

I currently use a Torch 9810. In conjunction with my PlayBook it's a great combo. I have yet to make the transition to BB10, but my daughter and her partner have, both have Z10's. It's unlikely I'll make the transition until Bridge functionality equivalent to what BBOS currently has makes it's way over to BB10.

That was a pretty awesome device too. A genuine and proper touchscreen, the hardware was pretty, and I really wish I had a PB.

I wouldn't hold to hard to that claim about bridge functionality though. Since the PB has been declared dead more or less (no more software updates), you probably won't see improved bridge functionality. Just something to be prepared for, but in the meantime, I sure as heck don't blame ya; if it ain't broke don't fix it
