Thanks for all the feedback! Keep it coming.

Re: Posting comments through the CB app. That is coming soon. As soon as we do our big CrackBerry website upgrade, then we'll update the app so comments work. We built the commenting APIs for the app into the new site vs. wasting time building it into the old one. But we wanted to get the app up asap, so launched the blogs in reader mode. But they'll be fully interactive soon.

Re: Podcasts. Yes, we shall do that. Maybe we can fire one up today even. I shall coordinate. Might be a little tricky with me and Bla1ze both at CB HQ... we'll sit beside each other, but we can bring Adam in and Simon too and make it good.

Re: Adam and Bla1ze Cage Match - I'm thinking whoever wins gets a raise. Should make it into a good solid fight. Honestly not sure who would win that one. Adam is a gentle soul, but I think if set off could be a killing machine. Bla1ze is a lean mean looking one. I don't even know who'd I bet on.

Maybe you can convince BlackBerry to make public all of the undocumented gestures and tricks that might come in handy to people who have spent $Hundreds for their phones. This is not a game where we are supposed to discover these things by accident or on some kind of a hunt.

I actually have been getting depressed with the site as of late.... the Crackberry team is doing a great job on the site.... it just with all things Z10 threads of late feeling there really is not much here for me anymore...... This is not a critisism of Crackberry or its members... is simply when something a great as the Z10 shows up that is what is written about.... for me being an owner of a 9800 and Playbook I am not finding much keeping me here... Especially with Blackberry being so elusive about BB10 on the current Playbook.... not terribly hopeful on that front..... I do follow the Playbook forum but since the z10 it has stopped being interesting..... not sure if others are feeling this way... but that is where I am at.... just call it the "orphaned" syndrom....

One recent post that did annoy me was the netflix post.... I think it is great there is a working app out there but what is the point of posting it of the general users cannot use it????? all this does is make many feel like they are missing out and the threads begin.... as well the fact there was actually no info posted about a possible release what was the point of the post?????

Anyways... my issue... I am pleased to all the Z10 excitement happening and hope it continutes with the US launch....

You guys (and the whole CB community) are doing a wonderful job describing both the good and not-so-good facets of the new OS. I honestly appreciate that folks are pointing out the differences between the Z10 and my current 9930. The fantastic web browser, the multitasking, the hub, no more backing out of apps - I couldn't wait! I was chomping at the bit to get a white Z10 from VZW, and pissed off that I had to wait for the end of March down here in Ohio for it to be available. But then I began seeing things like bedside mode & lack of "phone calls only", no individual volume settings for notifications, difficulties encountered when trying to sync with Outlook, bridging with the PB, being unable to create custom sound profiles, etc....

Had I been able to get a Z10 immediately, with all of the changes from what I've become accustomed to on my 9930, I would have been seriously disappointed. Heck, for the first few days after reading everything I almost considered looking at an Android phone (gasp). Now, I've come to my senses and am still committed to BB, but I'm going to hang on to my 9930 for a few more months until the OS is updated and some of the above issues are addressed.

When I first purchased a BB (a Tour 9630, back in 2008 or so), CB seemed to be a site where I could download ringtones and find a new version of an OS every once in a while, while another major BB site was the "authority" and place I went for "real" BB news and help (strictly my personal opinion, no flaming necessary). Since then, however, CB has grown and evolved into the (again, my opinion) primary BB site for everything, and that other site can seemingly go for a day or two without a single new post or thread. Heck, I've even seen their moderators posting questions here This is a testiment to the hard work and dedication by Kevin, all of the CB staff, and everyone else at Mobile Nations, and more so the QUALITY of the content found on this site. You all should be extremely proud of what you've built here. A toast to Kevin and the team!

Well the reality of things is that life is transitional and changes with the times. There are not a lot of active members sporting a three? year-old phone these days, and if they are, they're keeping it kinda quiet. There's not gonna be a lot of developer activity, or new news on it. There was a time that the PlayBook dominated the pages, but even that has slowed a lot. How many talk about the Style that much, which was my last BlackBerry. That doesn't make the site less relevant, you get out of the site what you put into it.

CrackBerry is life, it ebbs and flows. It has wild rides and quiet times. Some days, you surf, others you sail. But there are days you wanna just lounge on the beach with a cold one and watch girls/guys go by and think private thoughts, too.

Gotta say, great job on the front page stuff, the coverage has been really good. I'm liking the variety, would be nice to see a few more app highlights maybe to give some more devs exposure.

The general forums are becoming a bit of a nightmare though...the only type of threads that tend to appear anymore are either criticisms of the z10 followed by attacks against the OP or praises followed by attacks against anyone who doesn't praise the z10.

Doing great so far. I'd like to see a comprehensive write-up (or video) regarding network connectivity, the new protocols, what uses RIM servers and what doesn't, how email sync is working without BIS and what happens with PUSH email (particularly Gmail as they stopped activesync for new devices) now that BIS is redundant on OS10. BB was famed for their email speed (push) and security, how has this changed, data plan requirements (if any) etc... etc... etc...

This is by far the best BB site anywhere, and I am proud to be a member. I would like to make suggestion, and maybe it's already there and I am missing it but is there a place where you can post about bugs / issues and it will some how get to Black Berry support?

    Thanks

Doing well here, Kevin. CB has done a wonderful job keeping us entertained and informed. I'm enjoying reading the blog and forum posts, commenting on them, and gearing up for the Z10 when it finally hits American shores. I have been telling everyone I know about it and I can't wait to get it in my hot little hands! :-)

Kevin, the site is great; to me, it's my tecchie home.
I haven't got a Z10 yet so I can't comment on the app nor on the device itself, but I do have loads of questions as to the loss of BIS on BB10 and the loss of data compression.
I think it would be useful to have an in-depth op ed about what email on BB10 really means, from the obvious such as no more NOC for email to whether it is possible to delete in handheld but not on server. Reading through the site it seems that there is some confusion.
If I could test these things myself I wouldn't be so confused, but my adoption of BB10 is somewhat dependent on these types of down in the weeds questions.

As far as the site....I love what Mobile Nations is doing. This is a dynamic place with loads of energy. Love it here.

Not taking jibes at those who don't share my point of view. Taking jibes at those who don't respect my point of view. There's a difference . I've been quiet and ignoring them mostly, but some of those shrill anti BB people are quiet these days, so yes I couldn't resist putting it to some of those. I see one of those has crawled out to like your comment though .

Coming onto CrackBerry is a double-edged sword for me lately, but only because of all the great content about the Z10 and BlackBerry 10 in general, and the lack of BlackBerry 10 in the United States.

But I still come on here an embarrassing amount of times per day, just to see what's going on, to see all the new stuff I'll be able to do on my Z10 when I get it next month. I also appreciate Kevin's honesty in the video podcasts about some of the things that bug him (i.e. changes in Bedside Mode and Profiles customization), and hope that BlackBerry is listening and can make the changes that most people seem to want. Since I don't have a Z10 yet, those things don't bug me, but they would/will, but having a PlayBook since early 2011, I also know that BlackBerry can push out substantial updates that breathe new life into their product, and make them capable of doing things we didn't think they could (remember that Bridge update that let us use our touchscreen BlackBerrys as a cursor on our PlayBooks?)

I also appreciate that Kevin doesn't really just complain about some of the things in BB10 that bug him, but more importantly asks the question, "How could they have let this happen?" The little kinks in BB10 will probably be ironed out in a software update, but by asking How they slipped through the development process to begin with, BlackBerry can hopefully make sure fewer annoying things slip through to us in the future.

    Kevin,

You are doing great. CrackBerry is doing awesome!

I'd like to see some detailed (somewhat technical) articles about changes in BB 10 from BB 7 (now that BIS specific plan is not required) in terms of email, bbm, data compression etc.

I'd also like to see a guide on sideloading Android apps (with links to all tools required).

Also, a consolidated article that shows a list of all (hidden or not) gestures and features that are not obvious in the first attempt.

I'd request you to use all your influence with BlackBerry to push them to release OS 10.1 ASAP that addresses (early adopter) user concerns and bugs! My own wishlist is here: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...update-768484/ and I am hoping to see it addressed in 10.1 update!

    Cheers

As a famous comedian once said, "I wouldn't be a member of any organisation that would have me as a member."

Other than that, thanks for letting me post my thoughts as a BlackBerry afficionado freely. The coverage of BB10 has been quite thorough and thought provoking. To me, it can become a game changer. Heck, Samsung has pulled out the long knives because they perceive a threat. They are, undoubtedly, the biggest player in the game. Makes you think.
