I figured this is probably generic to all the phones, but feel free to move me to the Curve forum if it's not. I'm using an 8310 Curve.

Anybody know how I can silence the beeps when I'm dialing a phone number? I already set Key Tone to "Off" under Options > Screen/keyboard, to no avail, and it doesn't matter which profile I set to active. I would think that at the very least, the vibrate and silent profiles should have beeping keys.

Is there another option I'm missing somewhere?

    Thanks.

the only way i know to silence the tones when dialing is to turn the phone to vibrate or quiet....

    then the buttons are silent.

this is of course on a vzw pearl but should work on others as well...

I would have though that, yeah; but on my and my wife's Curves, it does not silence the keys when dialing.

I have the same problem with my VZW BlackBerry 8830. A solution to that problem would be great.

    just do this
    Try options>screen/keyboard>key tone[off]
make sure you save the changes, otherwise it will continue to beep

I have been wondering how to do this on my 8330 curve. Setting the key tone to mute does not do the trick. The only way it won't make a sound when I dial is having my profile set to vibrate or silent.

There is no option to turn off the touch tones, but here is a technique you can use to accomplish the same thing:

Here is a thread that describes another technique that seems to work for some phone / OS combinations. It does not work for my Verizon 8830, so I can't verify it.
