I'm happy for them to take another couple of weeks to sort out bugs in the software, for example the one every few days that starts BBM eating the battery on my Z30 and I have to do a reboot to stop it.

I have a major bug from a year ago, do you think if I give them another year they will fix it?

Those are just bug fixes which ironically didn't fix any of the bugs in STL100-1.

Bummer man. I have seen it get better with every release, though I have a few nags too - contacts merging and disconnecting weirdly; still an occasional reboot when playing music off an SD card and well - Link being a pile of crap that never gets better.

STL100-1 should of never been released. Too many problems and the only bb10 with a ti chip

Exactly. This is not expected from a company like BBRY.

Will they replace my STL100-1 with robust device? Sorry.

OK, Will they release bug fixes asap? Sorry, you have to wait post Classic

    That's where it sucks!

    AMorris,

That is an excellent point. Buy a new BB, get Blend for free. For those of us with old ones (Z10 here), charge us an 'app fee' of $10 or $20 to get Blend. That is the game-changer app for me. I don't particularly like typing on my phone. So, if I could run it from a real keyboard, I would be that much more productive.

    Jim
And I can imagine the number of users complaining about why they should have to pay for it when they have already paid for the phone...

Well,...the 8.1 update did break cellular connectivity for some people. But Apple fixed it in ~30 hours
Don't forget the bugs from 8.0, 8.0.1 and 8.0.2. So yeah so good of Apple to fix it in 30 hours.

I've been running 10.3.1.1151 on my Q10. It's pretty neat but I personally don't see the point of getting your panties in a wad over waiting a month or two after the release of the Classic for this to come out for older devices.

To those of us that have been holding out for the official release, it has been a long wait and suggesting that we have our "panties in a wad" is pretty ridiculous and complacent.

As a supporter of BlackBerry I am finding it more and more difficult to just stand by and patiently wait. I've gone thru more than my share of legacy devices that could not be updated to the latest and greatest OS due to their old ways that forced you to upgrade your device before you could experience all that was better. Many times a device not even a year old couldn't be updated. Very frustrating. So with this track record in mind, I don't think my lack of patience is unjustified if they have any hope of keeping their supporters.

We all saw this coming as soon as they pushed back the release of the Classic to December. Unlike Apple, it's not in BBRY's DNA to push a new OS for ALL devices when releasing a new new device. So, one has the ultimatum of purchasing a new unlocked device, download leaks, or wait at their mercy as they drag their feet to release an "official " OS for all BB10 devices. That's the breaks when dealing with BlackBerry.

Seriously? Even if Chen told us I promise 10.3.1 will come before year end, you will still find an excuse and say oh the man was joking!

    Wake up!

    Posted via CB10
    Exactly!

I'm so tired of the apologies for failing to do what they said they were going to do.

In whose world would "later this year" NOT equal this year?

    Come on!

Folks, lets see what time brings. Maybe they pushed the Classic to 17th of december, but therefore they publish 10.3.1 at the beginning of December to not mess up with the start of the Classic :P !?

My guess is that they are lining up all the carriers so they can do a Apple style launch of the new OS. By that I mean all the carries release it in the same day.

The delay is likely just to wait for the slow US carries to approve the OS.

    That's my 2 cents.

The US will probably release it summer 2154, I'll be flying with my car on top of Europe at that time or maybe some other continent, not sure.
