Now, I have searched this on google and on cb but the answers aren't very clear.
How private are text msgs? Are they stored for a certain amount of time/forever?
Can a service rep view all your txt msgs?
Can a primary person on the account request copies of text msgs?
I text basically 24/7 and I'm just curious about how private the msgs we send are? I've seen shows on tv that make it appear that msgs are all on file but then again that is tv!

Everything does stay on file and can be obtained if there is a police warrent but no, reps are not ablet to go and look at your text msgs. Don't ever think anything is private though. There's that Detroit Mayor that was busted for having an affair and he denied it. They got the txt msgs to prove it and he could have gotten sentanced for committing purjury...not sure what the outcome was.
For every day law abiding citizens, there's no need to worry...unless you plan on running for President...or Mayor, etc lol
Be careful with quoting what happened to Detroits mayor (thank goodness he is out!), he was using a city issued text messaging pager that EVERYTHING so everything was kept for records. Most carriers keep record of text messages for a certain period of time then they are purged.

ANYTHING using technology is available for viewing by someone. This is why you NEVER send sensitive information via email or text, everything gets stored - everything.
I recently contacted my carrier, Sprint, and asked about obtaining copies of text messages in relation to a police matter. I was told that they don't dedicate network resources to storing that data and no longer provide copies to customers for legal reasons, but they will provide the data if they receive a warrant from the police.
