We have these waterproof pouches to put our BB's in when on a boat or beach (anything where sand/water may damage the BB's).

Since the BB does NOT have a dial pad like our old Treos : ( and the pouches prevents the trackball from working (the pressing of the ball works, but NOT the sliding action), are there short cuts to use to do common things like paging up and down on webpages (built in browser or OperaMini), maneuvering the various menus, etc ???

example of a what we have is:

those are made more for touchscreen phones. in your BB browser you can use "t" to page up and "b" to page down, unfortunately there's no shortcuts like that for opera mini.

there are no shortcuts listed on the 101 page of home page navigation, like jump from icon to icon...this IS really a shortcoming of the BB.

the BB REALLY needs a dialpad IMO

In Opera Mini, equivalent of default browser's "T" top and "B" bottom is hit the # key then "3"

You could purchase the program "QuickLaunch" (see the app store) and assign it to one of your side convenience keys. Once in QL, all you need to do is type the first letter of the program, folder, website, etc. you want to access, then click the trackball. Viola' - there you are!
