I keep the box in case I sell a device. It is much nicer to sell it in its original box, and the original box also is useful as a shipping package.

I've seen on the Antiques Roadshow that it is best to keep the box. That way in 50 years, it will be worth more.

I keep the boxes on all my electronics until the manufacturers warranty expires. Once that's done it's out with the trash

I keep them all for resale. I flatten them all and throw out the manuals, plastic baggies, etc. Just keep the boxes stacked flat in my closet. Except for the LCD tv box. That's in the attic with all Styrofoam and packaging.

Keeping the box makes it easier to sell them or keep them organized after you move on to another device.

I still have the box to every cell phone I have ever owned lol most of them are in a storage box somewhere in the basement though lol the only ones that are currently in my office closet are my Sony Ericsson w810, Sony Ericsson w580, Pearl 8110, Torch 9800, Bold 9900 and PlayBook 64GB. Sadly, my Bold 9000, Torch 9860 and both Curve 9360's (one black and one white) were all purchased off of kijiji so they didn't come with boxes

With phones I keep them as long as I have them, either for resale or in case of warranty issues. Same for most other items. Particularly large boxes eg computer cases etc I keep until I decide whether I can trust them then throw them out if they don't betray me (never know when that new case might be waiting to slash your wrists!!)

I often find random old BB boxes on my chair at work. Just got one from the old flat blue BBs.

Learnt the hard way to keep the box... bought a Playbook 32 gig from Staples in Canada.... Touch Screen stopped working... Took it back to Staple but was told no box no return... was told to call RIM.. Called RIM told to take it to Staples.. Now have non working Playbook as a paperweight...... lesson learned...
You should call RIM again if you're still within the one year window. Don't mention Staples, tell them your PB stopped working. I've read many threads on here about problems and RMAs and never heard that RIM would make someone return to the retail location...

I keep everything in case I want to sell it, people like things in boxes and are willing to pay more. Also I sometimes look in the boxes and stuff..

When I took my keyboard back without box to Staples they just gave me a new one keyboard and kept the box to send the broken one back.

    Simple.

Same for me (most times). LoL

If only I could get my children to do the same when I gift them something.

All reasonably sized boxes go in a drawer until the original devices usefullness is passed. After that they are either sold or disposed of properly. Larger boxes are used as forts and bear caves. Kids love them.
Large appliance boxes (with staples removed) are great for rolling down short grassy slopes on the lawn as long as there are no hard obstacles at the bottom.

Fond memories of doing this as a child and running into a wasps nest.

I keep the boxes for EVERYTHING electronic that I own.. in fact each and every blackberry in my signature below save for my current 9900, has been repackaged and sold in "like new" condition with original box, manuals and all accessories, plus a 16GB playbook that isn't mentioned. When you can sell something in the same condition someone could buy it new.. you can usually get away with selling it for 50 bucks under full retail and that goes a long way towards buying the new model!
