Just wondering..if BlackBerry sold Two hundred thousand passport devices in 2 days then what is the total number that have been sold until today. Its already 15 days since the launch. With all the good publicity and reviews around plus the word of mouth I am sure it is way above what John Chen must have expected. Any insider info anyone?

There's a thread in the passport forum that says they are up to a million. That's seems like a stretch but who knows. I'd link to the thread but I'm lazy (and honestly don't know how either)

Slightly out of topic. How many BlackBerry 10 devices are out there at all?

I think it's safe to say that whatever happen from now on, the passport is a success (for BlackBerry)

i would agree with this number, there was the initial rush of orders but i am sure its not near the pace it was the first 2 days

I'd say they would have sold so many more if it was possible to actually order one!!!

I have been trying to order one since the launch date. I check shopbb everyday, always out of stock. I seem to miss the 40 minute Window on 2 occasions when it was actually on sale.

Long story short...im sure there are more people who want to order a passport than those who actually bought one already.

Can you tell I'm pissed off I havnt been able to order one yet?????

It being out of stock everywhere isn't helping sales either. Regardless it will be their predictions

Whatever they produced initially plus their monthly production figures. Still waiting for my order to arrive via Rogers. I imagine the sold number is way less than the order number.

I'm guessing much more than 1 million. Dunno why I get the feeling that internationally the Passport is an outstanding success for a company that has been deemed death for a while now.
BlackBerry is back and of course apple and google are taking a beating for they only have customers to lose.

I know for sure that they sold 3.500.000 units worldwide. Unexpected though. They produce more to cover Christmas period.

If this is true that's great but how do you know for sure?

A slow climb to the top is always more rewarding. Sent using my BlackBerry Z10.

No way they sold 3.5 million. If they did that they would be bragging about it all over the place.

It would be great if they sold a million.

You can't blame BlackBerry for not making a lot of inventory of the passport after how poorly the z30 did.

With 200,000 sold on the first day, it's pretty easy to accept that they are probably well over the 2 million mark now.

The first 200k were sold out in the first day. They were unlocked and you could order them online at shopblackberry and amazon, at least for most of September 24 but not after.
The Z30 was not advertised and you could not buy or order it unlocked anywhere. Even Rogers in Toronto did not have it in the first month.
So, you cannot compare the two launches, although the actual number is just speculation now.

If the numbers are something to talk about, Chen would probably wait to show his hand, and make a public statement when he could get the most impact from it. All part of being an executioner.

BlackBerry doesn't brag numbers. I see Chen continuing to be modest and focused. You won't see these numbers officially until the next quarter results.

If BlackBerry can sell over a million passports this quarter ( to customers) it will be deemed a success. Classic will give them further momentum. This quarters revenue might actually be the bottom!

You won't see them at all. The figures they release are combined handsets usually and with more bb10 devices out there it's hard to make a judgement on exactly how many of a particular device sold.
