Before I switched to the iPhone my first blackberry was a Curve 8330 and then the Storm 2. I really did like my 9550 but it would no longer charge after a OS update. It was a little workhorse though.

7520 - Which is an iDen phone. The company found that we rarely used the iDen features (Push to talk) so switched over to CDMA service.
8703e - Which was leaps and bounds ahead of the 7520. The keyboard was really good.
9000 - I got the 9000 as a personal phone and carried it along side the 8703e. The 9000 was my favorite phone at the time as it did everything that the 8703e did better and had enough memory that I could add a few apps. Shortly after, I gave the 8703e back as I switched jobs and went with the 9000 exclusively.
9800 - Eventually the 9000 started getting old. The trackball needed to be cleaned quite frequently (which involves taking the whole phone apart) and the app memory was proving to be quite limited for what I wanted to do. A few weeks before the Torch became available in Canada, I purchased an unlocked one. This is BY FAR my favorite Blackberry. It has the power that the 9000 did, with none of it's flaws.
I'm just a baby in the BLACKBERRY family. I'm currently on only my second Blackberry, my first was the ever popular 8330 which I loved but then came along the 9650 which I love even more.....can't wait to see how the BOLD TOUCH makes me feel ...
For the last couple of months, I've had the Torch. At the time I really loved my Bold 9000, especially the keyboard and screen, and couldn't imagine ever using anything else.I honestly do think I prefer the Torch now, though.
I am new to BB family too, just got a curve 9300 for my first BB, and now Im really love in bb phone, cant wait to see new BB like torch2 or bold touch
I bought 3 in the past year:
Bold 9700
Torch 9800
Bold 9780
Highly recommend any of these. Mine were all excellent right out of the box, solid, well built, no glitches. Still on v.246 for the Torch and not experiencing any issues with it - so haven't upgraded to any of the leaked ones as yet.
I have had the Tour 9630 since release and prior to that, the sCurve 8330. I actually loved them both, but the Tour is tops in my book. Couple of O.S. changes, and a proper trackball and I have held onto it for dear life.
Pearl 8120 (still own)
Bold 9700 (sold)
I would never recommend a 9700 to anyone. My Pearl was/is a workhorse, while the Bold was only good for about 4 months of use. I never adjusted to the cramped keyboard. I would routinely catch my nails between the keys while typing. Had more OS failures (white screen of death) than I could count. I regret listening to my other half and passing over the 8900 for the POS 9700. If I would have purchased the 8900 I might still be sporting a Blackberry today.
7290 - my first BlackBerry. Loved it but the ringer was too quiet.
7230 - hated this one after the 7290
8100 - A miracle of miniaturization but SureType was a failure with me.
8310 - I have had about 5 of these. They are without doubt my favorite BlackBerry. I love the keyboard and their rock solid reliability.
8900 - A great phone but a lousy keyboard
9700 - My current phone and I love it . I am getting used to the keyboard
9780 - Mrs. Pete6's current phone. She loves it but hates the keyboard after the 8310. Odd that we agree on that one small point.
