I've been a BES Administrator for the past 8 years up until recently where I made a small shift in my career. During that time I had many conversations, meetings and access to documents by BlackBerry and if my memory serves me correctly, I recall a conversation stating that there 15,000 BES installations world wide which would be relatively close to the time when iOS and Android began entering the market.

Take that number with a grain of salt.
