Question. Like BBM should Blackberry port their BB10 flick keyboard to android and IOS devices for a reasonable price. I personally us Swiftkey keyboards for both my Samsung S3 and Samsung Tab 2, It's maybe the best keyboard upgrade currently in the Google play Store. I've used the BB10 Flick keyboard and was really impressed by it. For me it would be a instant buy no questions asked like getting BBM on my android, also I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the Playbook keyboard for my Samsung Tab 2 if the BB10 Flick keyboard were not available for my Tablet. Mr. Chen said he wanted to put the Blackberry experience on Android and IOS, personally I think this would be a good start along with BBM.

If the BlackBerry 10 keyboard is available on Android and done properly I would switch. That goes for WP8 as well. I would grab the Z Ultra or the Nokia 1520. Done.

Your idea is ridiculous and a waste of resources which BlackBerry cannot afford. Focus focus, focus. Deliver, deliver, deliver. Failure is not an option.

You mean ridiculous like Blackberry giving away BBM to IOS and Android user? because they did that already, I'd pay for BB10 Flick keyboard or Playbook's keyboard for my tablet today. Blackberry wouldn't have to hope to recoup expense in the future like they current do now with BBM. Also Mr. Chen seem pretty willing to port Blackberry to Android and IOS.

I would absolutely buy it for iOS too. I also wouldn't do it for Android since Swype works perfectly.

I've never tried it but would be quite willing to buy and try, depending on price.

Remember: Blackberry's keyboard is based off of Swiftkey's API. So this is really a futile exercise since Swiftkey would either 1/get a huge cut or 2/ would not permit this altogether. Also, do note Swiftkey is already available on Android and swiping is preferred over flicking for many individuals.

Blackberry's keyboard is not all Blackberry's work. It is heavily based on other's work and Blackberry is likely restricted with what it can do with it. So while there is potential in selling/cross-platforming Blackberry's keyboard, Blackberry's keyboard might not be Blackberry's to sell.

I don't think that they would give it away for cheap, but i would buy it. It would take more than that for me to get rid of my z10 though. It would be nice to use on my work s4.

You may be correct, but I just like the way it looked and felt a little more then swiftkey does.

No harm with your idea. BlackBerry did a nice job making the keyboard their own which is a plus for BB10 phones. But yeah, there's probably restrictions in the licencing between BlackBerry & Swiftkey.

    thanks for the suggestion.
I tried fleksy on my S3 and its not bad, but I'd would much rather use Swiftkey or BB10 keyboard. it looks like BB10's keyboard but feels and functions a little different.

I think it would be difficult to convince users to switch once they build up an extensive dictionary of frequently used words or names. I've been using Swiftkey for 2 years and I have so many slang variations from two different languages and Swiftkey identifies them all quickly.

Yea, sometimes I think Swiftkey is a mind reader. I showed my co-worker the predictions for a text I sent my wife and I only typed two words out of a 10 word message. it know my typing habits.
