Its been 2 weeks and I haven't dropped my phone *knock on wood* or bumped it against anything, but it already has very minuscule surface scratches!

Can anyone suggest a good buffer to buff those tiny scratches out? And how do you buff it out? Do you simply take a napkin and rub over the screen? Can you still apply the "BSE skin protector" after buffing it?

I just ordered the screen protector a few minutes ago...and I'm going to keep my blackberry tucked away until I can get that package from BSE.

Also...is the BSE screen protector very easy to remove or will it leave behind residue and scratches?

Contrary to what others may say here, I do not recommend you trying to buff out those scratches. On my previous blackberry, I tried various ways to buff out the scratches (ie. using plastic polish, toothpaste with a soft microfiber cloth, and even using a dremel buffer wheel). None of those methods worked very well, and even created more scratches/imperfections. The screen on the blackberry simply doesn't react too well to polishing agents.

I just recently put on a BSE screen protector on my Pearl 8120, and it isn't perfect in the sense that I notice that it's there, it makes it so that the screen is not as bright as it used to be (because there's a film over the screen now), and if you look very closely, you can see an orange peel type of texture if you look at it from an angle - BUT, it does protect the screen from further damage, and does mask the previous scratches you had on the screen (ie., once you put it on, those minor scratches you have now will not be noticeable). To answer your last question- no, you can still take it off if you want later on, and there won't be any residue.

I actually have people at work that put like regular lamination paper over the screen of their BB they were issued from our company. It's funny actually, but it does work. Then they see my OtterBox and now everyone wants one of those.

I was going to temporarily use tape, but lamination paper sounds like a good idea! I'll try it!

One thing to remember about scratch removal when it comes to plastics. You are not removing a scratch. You are either filling a scratch or buffing (actually wearing down) the surrounding plastic down to the LEVEL of the bottom of the scratch. In either case, I normally can still see the area the scratch is.

I like the BSE lens protector. I have used the sticky type in the past on other phones and devices and I like the non glue versions better.

Make sure the lens is clean/hands/fingers are clean when you use the water/soap solution to wet the protector.
