I'm trying to build a theme which requires removal of most of the indicators on the homescree. The bluetooth, wifi, and GPS indicators don't want to be removed and can't simply be moved out of the visible area... any ideas?

I dont think you can remove them. I dont use the wifi, bluetooth or gps so they dont show up when using the theme
pile all of them in one little spot and create something to cover it up in your svg. then in TB select render homescreen over banner.
