My guess as to why they're more expensive is because the US BB10 phones were made in Mexico. Other brands are made in China and Asian countries where it is much much cheaper to build.

Ok there Troll. Have to even tried a BB10 phone or a Z30 for that matter? Lol. The z30 puts the iPhone 5s to complete shame. Do you have Miracast? HDMI output? USB on the go? NFC? Wireless charging? 5" screen? A central HUB for all messages (I guess you like to open and close apps all the time to get to your messages), the best virtual keyboard on the market (BlackBerry users use both thumbs to type fast and accurately. All iPhone users I see, one handed thumb typing. It's actually quite brutal to watch such inefficiency and slow speed typing. The worst virtual keyboard ever created, no wonder they can't type properly.)
More horrible than some Android devices as well. Keep dreaming buddy. I think your comment is a little far fetched. I think Android and BB10 are quote on par with each other only BB10 runs more smoother and efficiently.
Go troll somewhere. Go back to imore and post your garbage there not here.

We are not as bad a group as you think. It isn't so much what you say, but how you say it. You are entitled to your opinion but to say "Blackberry devices are "horrible" compared to some cheaper Android devices" is pretty strong wouldn't you say? ;)
You got sucked right in.
BTW, I also have a Nexus 5 which has Miracast, wireless charging, NFC, etc. Its great that BB10 has those features but they are not exclusive.

Exactly. Not to mention that smartphones are also much more capable and future-proof now, yet we still cling to this upgrade cycle of one or two years (to the carriers' delight). The thought of spending hundreds of euros to replace my iPhone 4 with a newer model simply did not appeal to me anymore. An iPhone is still an iPhone, Android is Android. The hardware gets better, but the software still works the same. That is certainly true with iOS. I like to think of my smartphone as my portable computer now, and I only replace it when it has become too slow, obsolete or has broken down. A €200 BlackBerry Z10 was a very good offer a couple of months back, and the phone just fits more with my usage patterns.
But I do agree, all things considered, I would not have bought that BlackBerry if it was more expensive than that. You are still more easily hooked to ecosystems these days and there is, at least for me, this persistent doubt as to whether another phone could equally satisfy my needs. BlackBerry 10 still has to gain its full potential, even though it has made a lot of progress since last year, and you are still presented with a phone that might not live up to its expectations. That price tag definitely does not help.
That's why I said that Android and BB10 are on par with each other. They share similar features. I just find BB10 more smoother and less laggy for that matter. But there is a phone for everyone. The Nexus 5 is a nice phone, you don't see me dissing it. I can't stand trolls especially isheep. Yeah I agree I got sucked in. Oh well.

Go make such comments on other smartphone forums and see the reaction. Not much different than here.
As a former iPhone user I have made comments about ios that weren't so popular in the iPhone forum. The reaction was just as bad as on any other forum including crackberry.

I believe BlackBerry under estimated consumers ability to transition from OS7 to OS10. The company believed that the OS10 is far superior than the Androids and Apple. Just like the Playbook the release of OS10 stumbled out of the block half baked. The sales of touch screen device barely make a dent in the market. Now they are scrambling to bring back OS7 and revised keyboard OS10 to stop the bleeding. The company no longer in control of it's destiny. It's at the mercy of their next phones releases and the respond from it's customers.
