    My pearl does not have the { and } in the extra symbols. I have ( ) [ and ] but not { and }.

    There is also no cents " � " sign on ANY Blackberry wich makes no sense (sorry but the pun was quite intended) to me at all.

    Email yourself the brackets from your computer... Then when you want to use them, you select them from the email
    and paste them where you want to use them.

    { AutoText, a BB friend.

    Hit reply on your post. Copy your brackets. Go to Options>AutoText. Make a 2 or more letter code for each bracket in the Replace field. . Paste the symbol in the With field. Escape and save. Next time you need the symbol, type the appropriate code, hit space, your symbol appears.
