I had Viber on my Bold 9900 but deleted it when I reinstalled the OS.
I didn't "close" the account.
I've just transferred to a Passport and when I opened the pictures folder up came over 100 pictures I've never seem before but some of people I know. Viber is NOT on the Passport because it doesn't work on BB10.

How did those photos get to me????
Just a bit concerned about the Privacy issue.......... whatever that is today.

Did you swap the SD card from the old phone into the Passport?

My Viber pics came across from my 9900 to my Z30 via the SD card.

I now find that I have to keep Viber open all the time on BB10 for it to accept calls, whereas on the 9900 it could be shut down/closed and calls would still come through.

Anyone else noticed this?

Urmm... Works fine for me. Calls and message show up as they arrive albeit with an annoying series of vibrations.

The picture sync happened to me in Whatsapp, seven year old contacts (people I don't like very much) synced to my contacts to my horror when I downloaded the Android version.

I didn't transfer my SD card over...I out in a new one.

That means no Viber on my phone yet I got all the pictures from known contacts....scary!!!!

The same over here. Viber for BB10 is an android port, hence it sucks and I hate using it.

It is available only for full touch models, so not for Q10 etc.

The pics must have got transferred as a part of some backup that you restored, definitely not scary

The crux of OP's question is not that it doesn't work on BB10. That's a secondary issue. (S)he said when it's not on my Passport, how did the pictures from Viber get on the device.

Obviously, the pictures were stored on the Bold, and the transfer moved them to the Passport.

Closing the account doesn't mean the pics are deleted, they were cached on the old phone still.

And Viber for Android runs great on the Passport, btw. It is really the only solution for someone who wants to run a videochat/messaging service on multiple platforms including desktop Linux.

Thanks for all of the above. I can assure you that 80% of the pics and 100% of the 90 odd stickers were not on the Bold.
