I'm with Kevin - bottom aligned icons would be supremely advantageous. I've got every screen set up with most-used radiating out from the bottom right, as I'm right handed. I keep my Z10 in my pocket upside down, and when removing and swiping up I'd have to shift my grip to reach the top left.
My main page has all of my most used apps. I hate to admit it but at one point I had 11 pages of icons but I deleted some and moved the rest into folders for page 2.
I only use the calender on the main page. For two reasons. First, because bb10 doesn't have the date in default with the clock. And the second reason is I like being able to see my whole wallpaper opposed to it looking messy. The other trays are newly arranged with priority apps at the bottom and in folders. Easy to get to with one hand when using the Z30.
I have three pages all with only one row of icons, the first page is my most used apps and no folders on the first pages. I wish folders were like bbos7.1 but I'll live with it for now.
Here is mine, I like to group similar things into folders to maximize space and to reduce the amount of swiping I need to do to switch between home screen screens. I put all my essentials on page 1 and then those things I deem as less essential on page 2. I Just switched from my Q10 to my first ever full touch, the Zed10, and I'm loving it
Given that I use the Q10, I don't have as huge an issue with reach and other things like you fancy-pants Z30 owners do
Except for some of my more "important" apps, I keep everything in folders. The order of those folders has changed slightly over time, and while it may seem out of order, I assure you there is a method to the madness. I originally had one folder for games, but with all of the free giveaways the folder filled up fast, so I needed a new one. It's the latest addition to the homescreen so that's why it's the last icon in the bottom left corner.
The favourite sites folder is really the only other one whose placement matters, as it's an easy spot for my thumb to gravitate to, and I make use of that folder regularly. I tried moving it elsewhere and I kept opening the wrong thing when I wanted a favourite site, so that didn't last long.
1. The first one is all the stock Blackberry apps that came pre-installed, most of which I hardly use (except for Password Keeper, File Manager & the "Music" & "Pictures" apps).
2. This is where my most frequently used apps are. Literally everything on this page is used many times daily. I use folders to get the minimally used apps out of the way.
3. And on the last page, (the only one without a folder) it's games. And that's that.
I've had the same basic layout on all of my BlackBerry. Kind of miss having them hid under the keyboard like on OS7.1 sometimes and the designated folders BlackBerry already had made.
