I've tried and I get "Device does not have the necessary services" even though I updated to the new OS that supposedly plays MP3 files.

I believe the bluetooth in the 8700 only supports headsets. you can however download files from websites/SMS/attachments in email including MP3 files.

I figured it out. You have to go to the 'media' icon on your 8700, go to 'ringtones' and click the wheel. It will say 'receive using bluetooth'. On your computer, click your bluetooth icon and 'send file'. click your file and it will pair and send to your 8700.

Did you already set up a link with the other bluetooth device? you have to enable and configure the bluetooth first.

At the top of the 9700 section. Update your OS via your PC. Read the instructions up there it's simple and it will allow you to play Mp3 ringtones.
