Always been curious how people holster their phones. Personally, I've always kept screen outwards so i could look at the LED, but apparently some people keep the screen inwards for more protection (I guess?)

What do you guys do? Assume you do so NOT because you try to make the magnet work.

I keep the screen outwards for the LED and because of the way I draw it from the holster. If I kept it face-in, when I drew it, I'd be looking at the back of it and would ave to flip it over.

Inwards! when I first got it, I thought it had to be facing outwards for the magnet to work its magic. someone clued me in and now I always holster it with screen inwards. I guess my wife is smarter than me, because she naturally put hers inwards from day one.

I never gave this much thought before. I keep my screen out. I don't like the idea of the top flap sliding across the screen/trackball/keys whenever I take it out. Plus it's easier putting it back in one handed. Just lift the flap and let it slide across the back. I'm not really worried about more screen protection because the holster is pretty thick as it is.

Outwards so I can easily see LED but I use an 8300 holster for my 9700 as I prefer the slid in pouch style than the newer standard holsters

I used to face it out and now I wear it facing in. Ringing sounds louder with the back facing out. And I don't have to flip it in my hand to see the screen. I haven't dropped it since I switched

what's the difference between the 9700 holster vs 8300?

    are you talking about:
Amazon.com: RIM Blackberry OEM Leather Swivel Holster, Black for Blackberry 8300 8320 - Hdw-13386-001: Cell Phones & Service

Don't they still use a flap?

I keep it screen inward, facing my body, the same way that I carry an open-faced pocket watch in the watch pocket.

Inward, in my Platinum holster, as it is designed to hold the case in that manner, and either way in my Nite Ize Rugged Holster, as the flap hides the LED anyway.

You really have a pocket watch in your watch pocket?

I use the OEM leather holster, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I used to carry it screen-side out, for whatever reason. Now it goes screen-side in. Easy choice for me, as I'm often cutting and drilling steel and found that the magnet in the holster latch can pick up little metal shavings which would love to scratch my screen. Turn it around and voila! Problem solved.

Facing outwards for me. I can see the LED and it comes out right side up with I take it out.

I just shove it in any ol' way. Upside down, right side up, backwards or forwards facing.

I keep my Curve in its oem holster, and usually it's in my breast pocket with the screen facing in. That way all I have to do is look down, and I can see the LED.

In the OEM, bottom part goes in first so I'll be able to see the LED. When I put it in my Pocket ( right pocket to be exact ), the screen would face my thigh for extra protection

Screen facing in, in a belt holster. It seems more natural when I take it out and I feel it protects the screen better.

I holster mine outward. I like to be able to see the LED light when I get messages. But I have really never thought to put my BB in the holster any other way but facing outward. I will have to give it a try and see if I like it.
