on the blackberry classes, it appears that some kind of sketch/handwriting recognition application has enabled itself without me pressing anything to turn it on. Now all my texts appear as a touch screen handwriting app. It is driving me crazy. I do not know where it came from or how it has turned on. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

    Thank you

I'm not aware of any native function for this. I suspect that you've recently installed an app that runs in the background and is causing this behaviour.

it seems to be a handwriting recognition app of some kind as i can write/draw with my fingers on the touchscreen and it converts to letters....

How does it pop up? You go to type a text and it appears by itself? Or is it always there?

    There might be something.

I once enabled handwriting recognition, when choosing an Asian language, it allows for character recognition. That was a while ago, and I did it on the Z10, but disabled it again. Forgot **how** I did it, but there must be a few posts on CB about it, and I'm pretty sure I participated in the discussion.

Hope you find it, or that we're on the right track. Check "Input Languages" in the Settings menu and see whether there are any Asian languages enabled (Chinese, Japanese, etc). :-)

That's what I was thinking, I remember a while back someone mentioned handwriting for Asian language, that could be the culprit.

Go into settings>language and input>input language. And look at what language you have enabled.

I'm always on crackberry and I have to say I've never seen this before. If it's not a third party app causing this or an Asian language, then I REALLY don't know what could be causing this. I hope someone more knowledgeable than me could chime in.
